WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. -- The next time you visit a hospital gift shop, you'll be glad to know that you're helping the patients.

This week's 7 Everyday Heroes make sure of that.

As 7NEWS anchor Mitch Jelniker reports, they make it possible for the hospital to donate all of the gift shop proceeds.

Let's call them the dynamic duo because in the eyes of those at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center these two ladies are super 7Everyday Heroes.

Ruth Hassoldt and Edith Fender are volunteers at Lutheran. They're there rain or shine; Edith for two days a week, Ruth for three.

The women help in the gift shop.

Edith has put in 19 years here, Ruth 22.

Downstairs, the pair organizes all the merchandise for the gift shop -- a shop that generates lots of money for the hospital.

There are about 60 volunteers who help make the Lutheran Medical Center gift shop a success.

But it's Edith and Ruth who are leading the way.
